The obelisk has a laconic shape: on a man-made mound stands a 46-meter stele in the form of a Victory banner, in the upper part of which is a star of the hero city framed by an oak branch. At the foot of the monument is a plaque with the text of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarding Minsk the honorary title of "hero city" in 1974. Next to the stele, the majestic figure of a woman rose with a fanfare in her raised hand. It symbolizes the Victory and Glory of the hero city.
