The Khatyn Memorial Complex was built in memory of all the Belarusian villages destroyed by enemy troops during the Great Patriotic War. The monument to the victims of fascism is located on the site of the former village of Khatyn, whose inhabitants were executed by the punishers, and all the houses were burned down. The work of monumental art, for which the author's team was awarded the title of Lenin Prize laureates, is located within easy reach of Minsk, which allows you to see it with your own eyes without spending a lot of time.
The excursion to Khatyn from Minsk includes a visit to the Kurgan of Glory monument. An obelisk was erected in honor of the victorious completion of the offensive operation Bagration, part of which was called the Minsk Pocket (a large group of Nazi troops was encircled and defeated by the Soviet army).
