History and modernity of the Leninsky district

The Church of the Epiphany is being built in the Loshitsa residential district of the capital. Its main altar will be dedicated to the event of the Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ in the waters of the Jordan. The second throne will be dedicated to the myrrh-bearing wives, i.e. the women who came in the morning to the Tomb of Jesus Christ with perfumes and incense (myrrh) to anoint His body, but instead were gladdened by the angelic news that Christ is not in the tomb, He has risen! The third altar will be dedicated to the wonderworkers of Murom, Saints Peter and Fevronia. While the construction of the church is underway, the parish is housed in a temporary building at 4 Chizhevsky Street (Loshitsa). The temple contains fragments of the relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, the wonderworkers, patrons of family happiness, love and fidelity.

The Loshitsa Manor and Park Complex in Minsk is one of the most beautiful parks in the capital of Belarus, located in the southern part of the city, in the Loshitsa neighborhood of the same name. On the territory of Loshitsky Park there is an ancient manor complex, around which the park itself was formed at one time. Nowadays, there is a wonderful museum in the manor. Loshitsky Park is located along the banks of the Svisloch River, and covers an area of about one hundred hectares. In the southern part of Loshitsky Park, there is a small artificial reservoir formed on the small Loshitsa river, which flows into the Svisloch River at this point. Loshitsky Park is one of the best places for leisurely walks and family outdoor recreation in Minsk. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is also all the necessary infrastructure: cycling and running tracks (ski trails in winter), various sports grounds, and rental points for necessary sports equipment. There are several cozy cafes in the park, and in the warmer months they are joined by pavilions with ice cream and drinks.In addition, there are several excellent playgrounds for children.

The Minsk City Palace of Culture, formerly known as the Palace of Culture of the Worsted Factory, was founded in 1965.It was one of the most striking and distinctive institutions of the city of Minsk, with its own creative face and excellent teams. The palace worked fruitfully until the early 2000s. In 2007, it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Minsk City Executive Committee and became the municipal property of the city. The name of the Palace was changed to the State Cultural and Educational Institution "Loshitsky Palace of Culture" at its location near the park of the same name and the Loshitsa neighborhood. Since November 2012, the building has been closed for reconstruction for more than 5 years. And so, in May 2018, the rejuvenated and completely renovated Minsk City Palace of Culture reopened its doors to all comers. Today, there are many creative circles and studios of various orientations, and large halls with 612 seats and small halls with 180 seats are equipped for concerts and performances.
