The Orthodox church, built in memory of the victims of the Chernobyl disaster, was laid on April 26, 1991, and its site was consecrated on the same day. The architect of the temple is Nikolai Dyatko. The height, together with the cross, is 70 m. It includes a complex of buildings – the cathedral church, the baptismal church of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, a Chapel in honor of the Holy Spirit, a Bell tower, and an academic building.

The park was created simultaneously with the construction of the neighborhood in the 1970s, so its name is associated with 1977, when the 60th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution was celebrated in the USSR.
