Ekaterinburg

Yekaterinburg — in Soviet times, Sverdlovsk was the fourth most populous city in Russia, the unofficial capital of the Urals and one of the most important cultural and economic centers of the country. The history of this place is closely connected with the development of Russian industry. Even the founding date of the city was November 18, 1723, the day when the Yekaterinburg Metallurgical Plant began operation. Therefore, many of the region's attractions are related to industry — there is a Gold Museum, a factory museum, exhibitions of equipment and creative clusters in former factories.
